Default What's up with Kawahara Racing in Japan?

Is Kawahara Racing still in business? Their Web site has been down for a few weeks now.

This is especially a bummer for the folks that did the Kawahara conversions to their Mugen cars. The pulleys and belts are different from the stock ones and once they break a belt, they will have to convert back to the stock ones which means changing the pulleys as well. Also, what is to come for replacement parts (for the few that you may need) for the 220mm conversion kits if you break something?

A real shame Kawahara pulled out. They made some really good quality options parts.

Knack racing still produce 220mm conversion kits and it seems this class is still popular in Japan. Knack

The Zac Project tyre brand is now distributed by company called Tabata. Zac

Actually I was looking for the 1/12 EP tires, and was wondering if there was a distributor in North America. I didn't find anything on Ebay, but if anyone knows of anywhere else, LMK.

Order them straight from Japan from these guys:
http://www.rc-champ.co.jp/Champ_Inte...onal_index.htm

Just send him an email in English letting him know you want some ZAC tires with the completed spreadsheet, he'll send you an email back letting you know if he can get them and a quote. As soon he gets your Paypal, he'll send out the goods. I guess the new catalog from the company that is dealing in these is here: http://tabata.jp/zac/products/zac_tire_10.html (thank's occ)

I've been out of racing for a bit, but when I was in, I must have ordered more than $1,000 from this guy over 2 years with no issues. I've order lots of tires from him. You pay more for shipping from Japan of course, but the more you order at one time, the cheaper it gets. He also has a thread in this forum in the Commercial/Retail section here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/champ-r-c-adviser-87/

I love ZAC tires and I haven't found any tires that I like better yet. When I really needed to pull out the stops on our high wear track, I would put those on and the car would really perform.

I need to try those Twister tires though. People have posted in this forum that they are pretty good.
