There is no real advantage in our climate above 16%. The colder it gets the less nitro you want to run. I rarely run even 16% unless its all that is available. In our climate I prefer 10% nitro with 9% oil.

I've seen the poll but I can't see how you lodge your vote, so I just assumed the poll had finished.

Nope. Just checked. Still locked.

I would personally prefer the third option. TC Shells with 3-port Efra Legal engines. Makes it a totally fair and more reasonable class for those who would prefer running foams but cant afford/dont want to spend the 400 engines that goes along with it.

I like running Lola shells with open engines myself as it takes away the 'He's cheating' from the hobby. But I cant justify the cost involved in running a 200mm at the same pace and level as a low end full blown 1:8th car. It would be cheaper running a stock 5-port 1:8th class with restrictions.

I agree and if I'm not mistaken this has been proposed for next year is that correct? as a matter of interest do the cars become harder to drive using a front one-way with a touring shell as opposed to a one-way with a lola shell?

Not sure what is being proposed for next year regarding different classes. But I hope it does get put through.

Regarding one-ways. I havent really noticed a big deal of difference running a one-way with a TC shell compared to a Lola.

there are no proposals till end of year before the agm! so please do not start any rumours, the comitee has enough with running 2 series let alone any gossip!!

there were proposals this year but the rubber lads voted what they wanted in rubber and foam the same to save any falling out!
other wise all hell would have broke loose!

Default Summer Series

Just to remind any interested UK racers, the 1st round of the Kent IC Club http://www.kenticclub.co.uk Summer Series starts this Sunday 28th March at the excellent Brooklands Circuit http://www.brooklandscircuit.co.uk

The club caters for both beginners and experts and you don't have to be a member to race. Race fees: members 8, non-members 12, non-members do not score championship points. Membership 25.

Come on guys instead of whinging about the lack of tracks running nitro, here's your chance to get out and have a blast in the Kent countryside.

Default 2nd Round Kent IC Club Summer Series

Just to let anyone interested know, the 2nd round of the Kent IC Club summer series is scheduled for Sunday 11th April and again will be run at the excellent Brooklands Circuit.

Again, non-members are welcome as well as beginners and pro level drivers. Not too many pro drivers though because I managed to win the last race and currently lead the points standing.

Come on guys it would be great to see some new faces down here in Kent, and as a point of interest at the Open event back in August, Darren Johnson was turning 39mph average lap speeds so this is a fast circuit!

If anyone would like some more info please PM or E-mail me.

Cheers

Mark

What? Only 39mph average. I'd be faster getting off the rostrum, strapping the transponder to my leg and running around the track

J/K

Not a bad turn of speed.

Default Pre-Booking

Anyone interested in racing can pre-book at Kent IC Club or just turn up on the day, racing start at about 0930 - 1000 but the track will be open from about 0800 for practice etc.
