I can't imagine it's any much better than the JP MT-12 that SpeedTech sells for $219

The JP Mt 12 is probably the hardest engine I have ever had to tune. I had to have the needle 5 turns out. Along with having to adjust the needle every 2 minutes.

RSX Type 7even if you are planning on racing then yes I would go with the best you can get to an extent. The more mods that are done to an engine the shorter its life span becomes. For serious racers this is something that we understand and are willing to dish out the money constantly to have the best and the fastest. How ever if you aren't planning on racing than you will be spending alot of money on engines that in a parkinglot atmosphere you will not be able to get there full potential. You would be better suited to getting a high end OS for a fraction of the cost of the JP's and Richey's. (Sorry Dennis not tring to say anything bad) I hope this helps in your decision making.

Engines to buy:

O.S., RB, and Novarossi. Plenty of different models to suite anyones needs. I have personally owned only a small number of engines. AE .15 (i didn't like it), Ofna .15 Pro S (didn't like this one either), O.S. .12 CV-R (very nice, consistent carb), RB X .12 5 port turbo (haven't tried it, but finish is superb). I'm planning on getting an MT .12 turbo as well before running my 5 port.

Engine to consider:

The Piccos had some quality issue before, but their new line of high powered .12's look promising. I'm gonna keep an eye on the Ofna/Picco 7 port. I wouldn't waste my money on the older Trinity/Picco var. But if you want a safe engine right now, go to O.S., RB, and Nova; you cant go wrong with those 3.
