Charlie: That sounds good to me. Which track would you be holding it at? HB I take it?

All I am hearing from some of you is more of what won't work and how this or that needs to be this way or that (what "I" am used to running or the way "I" do it) instead of going with the flow to see if this is for you or will have fun running it. Unlike some of you, I would rather finish 5th in a tight race with good competitors than finish first several laps ahead of racers that are no where close to my driving abilities.
JLock: I'm not trying to shoot down the class. I want this class to get off the ground and get going. I just want to make ensure that the "experienced senators" don't set rules just because they can or feel like it.

To me this hobby is like therapy, a way to get out away from work and out of the house. So I don't care if I finish 5th or dead last... in fact if and when Charlie B sets up his class, I plan on showing up to the inaugural race with an OS FS26 II 4 stroke! (if its permitted

Raman, it is funny you mention the 4 stroke....John from OOC has been running his 4 stroke in his nitro GT car. It sounds really cool. His site is http://www.oocrcracing.com/ and will be running this in Jan 3rd at HB. Give him an email to get some ideas..if we can get 5 to run this, we will have a cool little class.

Charlie:

There is a guy at Hobby House in Northridge that runs an NTC3 with a 4 stroke.. other than that its slim pickings.. OS discontinued the motor about 3 months ago.

I run mine with a silencer and it sounds great. I ran it for a while with a straight pipe and it sounded like a Ducati.. other pluses are awesome fuel economy and instant torque like a brushless motor... I geared it as high as possible, 28/48 in second, it will definitely hold its own against a 2 stroke.

Hello from France,

in the SouthWest region, we decided to create a new class called the "Eco Class".
We made this because 1/10th-200mm is going to cost too much!!!

So we made rules very rectrictive:

- all 1/10 chassis are allowed (stock or full options)
- OS 12Tz or RB TJ9 engines stock version (no preparing!!) - all pullstart engines.
- GT bodies
- 4 pairs of 40 RB SpeedLine tyres for the race day (morning training - 3 qualifying heats - 30mn final)

All drivers are very pleased with this class, they cut the price of the open season (8 races)by near a half!!!

For 2010, I will race Eco Class with the NT1R (front dif and front anti roll options) + RB TJ9.

Here's my GT body!!!

Au revoir.

You can order rubber tires through your local LHS. HPI is still a big maker of rubber tires but don't really have much in the way of pre-glued. Sorex, Jaco, and Take Off/RP are the three bigger brands that offer pre-glued tires. There is another brand called Sweeps that I have heard tot he Arkansas guys are using. Since you are in Dallas, check with Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton, Wild Bill's HS on Irving, T&T R/C Cars in Plano, or Hobbytown Dallas off Walnut Hill and US 75 (next to Dave & Busters).

Depends if you are looking for pre-mounts or stand alone tyres.

For pre-mounts I have use the Ipanema 1/10 scale slicks.. they come in 26 mm and 30 mm width. I purchased mine from

http://rcracingstation.com/rc_racing...arts_08_08.htm

The owner is Reginald a very nice guy.

If you are looking for tyre by itself, take a look at the Traxxas 4tec slicks.. don't laugh even though they're from traxxas.. they handle pretty good and are quite long lasting
