Default When changing P/S, also change the conrod?

I am getting a new P/S for my engine. Do you typically change the conrod when you change the P/S?

More often then not. I`ve even seen times where the P/S are pulled out and still have a good fit so It`s put back in with a new rod. Also consider a new wrist pin, they`re usually cheap and especially put in new wrist pin retainers.

I feel it is very important when changing ur P/S to change ur rod because when ur running the engine in again there wil be a far greater load on the rod and if not changed could break while running in costing u a heap of cash. Some people even go as far as after running in the engine then changing the rod again. This is becoming increasingly important with the engines having more compression therefore putting more load on the rod while running in.

Agreed...I know some guys that change the rod after breakin just because of the pressure put on it. But if the p/s needs replacing, you should definetly replace the rod.
