Default Which foams?

Looking for some foams..

Pretty much ill be using them to run/bash around the track.. not racing.. just running around the track and racing with other locals.

the track is fairly tight, but has 1 long straight.

which foams do you recommend? that has good grip but still last a while?

also does truing the foam make a big difference?

Last I checked, Twister had the best prices on foams (and their manufacturer won the 10th scale and then the 8th scale worlds in the past two years so they are fast) and then Matrix would come in a close second. My signature has the address to Twister in the USA, look at the Serpent style for the least expensive from them or if you are talking about 8th scale look at the Mugen style.

I recommend truing the fronts smaller than the rears by about 2mm, only to keep tire wear even but you could get away without it. Big tires tend to chunk though, so while you think a 65mm tire is going to last forever, it ends up being a one run tire especially on parking lots with gravel.

None of the foams really outlast any of the others, all of the actual foam is made in only a couple of places at the moment and then sold to the wheel manufacturers and tire makers who assemble the tire who then sell them to someone to slap a label and call it their own.

40 fronts, and 42 rears is the safest combination for an unknown track. If you really want some life, 42 fronts and 45 rears will last forever and only give a little bit more slide than the 40/42's would.

Be careful with running around with the locals though, you will eventually want what they have to beat them :P The hot ticket at my local track is 37 rears and 33 fronts on some days.
