I imagine a super smooth power band that's not too punchy? Or is it just a clutch adjustment to get the smoothness?
There are engines made for smooth power bands in n off road buggies, do they exist for on road too?
I race in Germany, its open. As such I run a full OS R2102 with a 6.5 restrictor. Also ran a 7 port Tecnopower, Clutch and diff is your best tuning tool.

My son Runs a 3 port Nova in his.

Default Still at it!

Things are pretty much the same, rule wise, here in the Toledo, Ohio area. Getting ready for the 2018 season. Why the 2wd pan car has not taken off in other areas of the country remains a mystery to me as we're having a blast with them. We have Motonicas, WRCs, SPMs, Forfasters, and 1 old but fun Mantua. Just checking in with all my old friends!

LETS RACE SOME MORE!!

Default WOW!

I was looking at a dealer page for information on a new Pan car. Noticed that a Pan car costs more than a 4WD car...

Its because distribution in the US is limited. When i bought my Motonicas in Europe, they were 2/3 the cost of Motonicas 1/8 4wd cars.

i agree ned..way too much. i've tried to get some on road going here and learned 1 thing. off road dominates period. even with better dist. like the next guy said i just don't think we can get people back. some don't even know on road cars are even made. also i think there would be a better chance with electric power, all seem to offer one. maybe one day things will turn around, by then the new bridge will be done and i can rejoin the great toledo gang.

Joe, Unfortunately I think you are correct. Too much work and too much money...I have a BURI E-1 4wd pan car. Very simple, very quick and not too expensive. I have run it with 1/8th scale electronics (4s) and also with 1/10 4wd truck electronics (2s) I went well with both.

What we need is an American made car, where there arent 3 middlemen, overseas taxes and tolls.

Even if its a simple chassis.

I have started on one, that is slightly smaller than 1/8 and .15 powered to see about getting the price down. it uses existing inexpensive running gear (MRX3-4) hubs, Delrin front end parts, and also the optional old style aluminum front beam, that still uses pillow balls. and not one piece of carbon fiber!

Its been slow going, but once done ill post it up.

I'm not sure how it is now, but it has been possible for Americans to not pay our European taxes, that's around 20-25% reduction in price.

Gary, What makes the pan car more expensive than the full 4wd car?

I do it, by going to Europe, and as an EU citizen I do not have to worry about that. Years ago you could get a tax exemption for living out of country.

One of the few places where you can see the price of a pan car:

The qty's produced of these cars are small so this does not help the overall price.

While the buy in for a pan is surprisingly high, you'll more than make up for it in maintenance and upkeep.
