Default Thunder Tiger Parts? = Stock NTC3 .12 Motor

I'm sure you guys have long replaced your stock NTC3 motors for the high zoot screamers. Does anyone know if you can replace the stock pull start rear motor plate with a Non-Pull start plate.

I've gone to a starter box, and when you lower the motor with lower motor mounts, the pull start plate drags the ground and needs to be replaced with a closed end unit.

Also does any know or have a larger cooling head for the .12.
I would think some aftermarket source should make something.

I run on a small tight track, and find the stock motor adequate while I focus on driving and keeping off the boards. I'm just trying to make the most of what I have.

thanks in advance

Here is the backplate. It works on the Associated .12 and .15 (same block)

I still run the Associated .12 on a small track. It is a very dependable engine for small track racing. You can also get a O'Donnel racing head for it here!

Hope this helps!

You will also need to trim off the little metal piece at the end of the crankshaft. Its the little metal piece that connects to the pull start. I think you may be able to get the instructions from AE website. Anyway I like have the pull starter, pretty convenient.
