oiling the bearings
I used to always clean my cars with a nitro spray after a full day at the track.
The nitro spray will wash away the lube in the bearings though. A friend of mine showed me this new silicone based spray from Home Depot. I cleaned the cars with some Simple Green/denatured alcohol, and lightly sprayed the inside and out side of the bearings with this new silicone spray, and the bearings are like new. It takes just a very small amount of this spray to work, but it works amazing. So now all I do is spray the cars down with the Simple Green mixture, use a compressor to blow them off, and then lightly spray all of the bearings with the silicone spray. Be sure and do not spray any one way bearings, because they will not work if they are lubed. One good thing about this spray is it will not collect dirt or gum up the bearings. If you try this, be sure and get the silicone based spray. |
I use this:
http://www.the-border.com/product.ph...9&cat=0&page=1 I fill it up with WD40 and throw the bearings in for an half hour. WD40 will clean and lubricate the bearings. |

why wont the one way work after lubing it?
Serpent makes a good one. Use this Only for the one-way bearings, and treat the other bearings with the silicone spray, or if you take the bearings out, clean and lube them with a light oil. But the one way bearings will not catch if they are lubed with any type of lube other than a one way lube |
