Hey there,
in the 900010 Set are included:
All new pulleys with a newly designed profile and optimized for the belts.
4 adapters for the new pulleys
and also some small parts for the assembly.
If you want to "update" your current V8 you also need to order the new, longer front belt, 606117.
We changed the design and also the the shape of the pulleys.
Addiotionally we changed the size of the pulley on the front oneway and the connected one.
We had 16Z to 24Z in the front, and with the new pulleys we have 18Z to 27Z for smoother rotation.
Hope i could help

Alex

Alex: first, thanks for all the information. About the pulleys, what is diference that the drivers feels between 900010 Set and the shepherd metallic pulleys? is only the weight?

Finally will be velox V8 2010? the kit will have some optional 2009 parts?

thanks for your time

Gabriel

Hey there,
if we can we like to help you, so we do !!
Point 1
The new pulleys are a little bit different in the tooth profile, so the drivetrain is running very smooth.
Point 2
Compared to the aluminium pulleys the new pulleys are super light, so ther is a extra in acceleration.
And with 2 in oppositely positioned grub screws in the adapter you can also minimize vibrations with the second grub screw !!
You can also use the new extra superleight weight pulley adapters, i will check the number on monday, and i also saw that we dont have pictures of them in the shop !!! I will prepare on monday.
Point 3
The plastic is a little bit more belt friendly

So thats it for the moment, now it is time for breakfast !!!

Velox V8 2010
For the future kit we do not like to change to much as we want to stay with the kit like it is. There is no reason for us to change something essential.
The only "update" we will have are the new pulley and the new adapters.
They will be supplied with the kit 2010 wich will be available in the spring.

Also we will maybe have a change with the middle belt. As you maybe realized the middle belt is about 1 tooth too long with the new pulleys. So we are testing some belts in the moment, and i am pretty sure that we will have a shorter belt for the new pulleys.

So thats ist again

Default New Pulleys

So, with the new pulleys, the 18Z and the 27Z. Would you still use a 7mm tire split?
Also, it this for mechanical advantage??

hello,
all is the same like before, you can use the same tire split as the gear ratio is still the same, only the diameter of the two front pulleys are grown up and helps the smoothness of the drivetrain.

Like coupe said, the ratio is exactly the same. Bigger pulleys means more teeth are in contact with the belt, distributing the load over a larger area. Should reduce the chances of a belt stripping.

That sounds good. However I must say. The Shepherd is by far the easiest 1/8 scale car on belts I have ever run. This is icing on the cake!

Lee,

We have mounted the tensioner on it original place, no problems with the belt.
