mounting Throttle return spring
hey guys,
i need to know how yall mounted your TRS in an R40 or any similar setup cars like the R40 with a Slide carb engine, i need one cause i want to race at my LHS but they require a TRS, i almost hate to do it cause my pack is charged and i make sure of that and it connection cant come apart .. i hate to put the added stress of the servo , but i need to do somthing any help would be great |
Jus mount a smal hairband between the ballink on the carb and the main needle. If you need more tension then just wrap the band 1 or 2 times arround the main needle.

You can get small hair bands from your local drug store/walmart/target in the hair accessories aisle. Make sure you have a good strong throttle servo because trs or bands are know to wear cheap servos out. |
I like to use a small inner tube. It is the same as using the hair bands but I found the inner tube when cut nice and thin last a bit longer and it is fuel resistant. You can even stretch it out if you feel it is too strong for your servo until it is good for you. One inner tube or one package of hair bands is a life time worth.

wow guys hairbands, that simple.. hahah yea iw ill be only useing this on race weekends, so it shouldnt wear out my futaba S3003 that badly ... i need to upgradeit to a metal gear servo/high powered, just to match the front lol ....
thanks again guys, |
so go figure, i went to my local smooth lot and set up a track with my brother tonight to get my car set and ready for practice tommorow morning , and the first tank i ran we were going at full speed and my pack died on me sending the car in a full throttle high speed spins and the straightening out , it came toward me so it flipped over my foot and rolled 20 feet and landed upside down , the full RPM and no load on the rear end blew out the main clutch and blew out my side belt and pully(who knows what else haventtaken it apart yet) sending parts to god knows where, and go figure i had the hairties and i was gonna put them on after that tank, and the funny thing i only had about 1 min. left of fuel in the tank ... a $.10 hairtie and excitement cost me around $35 for parts for the rear of the car , hope the engine is okay .... Moral of story TRS are super impoirtant when racing full race cars ..lol
