Default Traxxas Nitro 4tec 3.3?

Is this a decent on-road vehicle compared to the HPI and other competitors?

the only thing I dont like about the 4-tec is that it is a bit harder to work on than other models out there, I once took apart a .15trx 4tec and it wasn't fun, everything is just so close together and the car has alot of tight spaces, the hpi rs4 was a little bit easier things were spaced out making it easier to stick your fingers in there.

Its just used for bashing, no one races them. For racing you want Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent, Xray.....

I have the hpi rs4 evo 3 not the plus and i like it. Motor run s good, it handles pretty good. Lots of hop up parts for it.

NTC3 Plus, not the fastest, but possibly the best overall rtr sedan out there.

4-tec is all speed, while the ntc3 plus is fully adjustable as far as suspension goes.

Solid basher with excellent straight-ahead speed and parts are easy to come by and inexspensive. Competiton-wise you need to look elsewhere. I will say this, I've never seen a car take as much of a beaten as this car and still finish races. I guess it has to since its a beast to tame on the tracks. That thing loves the walls

The Associated NTC3 is the best car for its price. Mugen, Serpent, and Kyosho all make great nitro cars, but they may be a little pricey, if you'er just getting into the hobby. The NTC3 is a good car to grow into, and be competitive with, once you've learnd how to drive and handle a nitro car.

its a good rtr for out front curb bumping or a local dust lot. as for a track car....no.
check out your local track on race day, traxxas is not a player, and unless some one has a r40 still around, ether is hpi.
as for xray, serpent...etc...great track cars, not so good on the pebble top.
the Associated NTC3 is a ok balance.
i'm more a hpi fan but traxxas seams to favor better to beginners.
if you just need speed. dumb stuiped speed, check out the Schumacher FUSION .28 its 80 out of the box and a 100mph with factory hopups.(not beginner level)

If looking for a parking lot bashing etc...you cannot go wrong with the Ofna LD3.

Nitrohouse has them on sale, the RTR version, clicky for $160
They carry lots of parts just in case, plus all the hop-ups.

The LD3 has the same design as the NTC3.
