Default Old radio query

I am STILL working my way back into the sport, and am currently sorting gear. I have a NIB Airtronics 27mhz FM radio from about 15yrs ago, never used. Would this setup still be viable today in nitro onroad? Anyone still using 'back in the day' equipment? I am up on what current systems offer, but hate to see it go to waste and it's worth nothing now.

I think I have an old Futaba PCM laying around somewhere as well.

Thanks in advance.

There is someone in the WTB section looking for old school radios. Maybe you can get a couple bucks for it.

Sure, it will still work. In fact, it's probably better to use it now than ever. With so many driver running 2.4 GHz, 27 band is usually wide open.

I was thinking the same thing Steve. I'm just not sure how the old radio system will hold up with the new lot of digital servos out on the market. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, but something that should be consider if using radio for anything other than bashing.

Well that could be an attestement to his driving skills and and or the car and not the radio. All a radio needs to do is, make my car turn, the way I turn it, when I turn, and and stop and go when I want it, and I'm happy
