200mm A-Main photos are now posted:
http://www.forgas.org:1089/0/index/19422053668077370/0

They're all reduced size images, 1024 pixels wide max, to make it faster for d/l and to save server space. If anyone wants a full size image or print, please contact me.

Hey Kev,

Yes, I was able to bring back the Soldier in one piece this time.
It should still be good for a practice body. And the good thing
is, I was only able to use one of them..

It was a pretty tough week but I can say it was a good learning
experience all together. You're right, it is kinda funny and a bit
weird that I did end up where I first said I may have....

You should of aimed higher Ron.. I wish I could've been there just to watch. I hear a lot of people had run time issues. I guess I'm not the only one.

Maybe next year we'll all go with you.

thanks to fmolzer and the rest of the guys giving daily updates
during the race week. I'll be sure to make it to the winternats
next year with Ron. I'm sure the coverage from this site and
the links helped promote more interest for some racers to make
the travel next year.

I hope everyone enjoyed the "live coverage" I thought it added a new dimension to the racing. On mytsn, Mike Myers posted an article about how invisable R/C races are. This would be one way to get more attention... I will try hard to go next year too, this time with an engine that won't give me any trouble... I can't wait for the Ray woods video to be done. I am sure there is lot's of great footage in it.

you guys are welcolme, I would say it probably affected my racing in that updating was taking time out of the race day, probably just a few hours a day, but any distraction can hurt.

other than that it was no problem.. hopefully we can do this at a few other races.. maybe it can become a habit..

Fmolzer it would be great if races like this can generate
some spectators besides the people that are racing so
that we can get newcomers to this hobby everyyear.

I think they should actually start holding an invitational
race at events such as the rcx show where there is new
people coming. These trade shows are good at promoting
RC cars but not necessarilly RC racing.

ammdrew i know what you mean by distractions at big events
I know alot of the guys appreciate all the updates you posted
along with the play by play for the sedan Amain. You should
change your username to Chick Hearns.

I'm also waiting for the raywood dvd to come out. hopefully
they got footage of the other qualifier besides the big names.

I am all for everything that promotes the hobby. One of our dealers down in Texas has set up a deal where he get's to set up a track and run a rc car race on a part of a real oval race track, This is the warm up show for the real race. He is selling RC cars like there was no tomorrow. I think you can hook it into a lot of things, but also, you need to build the status of the big races. In Europe, they charge spectators to come and see the big races. Here in Minnesota, when we run at the oval track with our F1:s The track operator charges 4 USD to sit on the bleachers, and it is not uncommon for 100+ people to be there. It's all about the image of RC racing...

You bet Paulo, I thought it was great to meet you and others in person. I especially liked your advise on the glowplugs "schjust putta siiix innn !!!!" Can't wait to the next race. I feel like I could just pack up and go for it again.
