Default Reciever pack... Do you trust AA's...

Just checking in to see how many of you trust AA's in your receiver pack.
How long do you trust them for? Continous?
1hr main on a fresh set?

i use good AA's in my receiver pack, and havent had a problem.
i run a fail-safe, which is a must with any nitro i guess.

i use a multimeter to check the voltage of my receiver pack before each time i run my car.

I suppose I should clarify my question a little.

Will a fresh set of AA's last in a 1 hour main... Approximately 70 minutes total??

2/3A cells do fine in most model cars.. if not then use AAA (tripe-A) cells.
They are available in 1000mah, which would be largely enough for a 1hour main...

It's a bit hard to say cause everyone uses different servo's which will all draw a different amount of amps but in general i would think it would last however i reckon you will notice your servos slowing down considerably towards the end. I personally wouldn't trust them for that period of time.

If you are going to use AA's i recommend using the 2500mah rechargeable ones from energizer. I use them for transmitters and i've never had a problem and they last a fair while

Hope that helps

if you are using a FUTABA failsafe, be wary.....does not work with alkalines due to the drop off curve.....failsafe or not, battery voltage goes low..that car is Gone....
