Default Axial .28 spec bad runtime

Hi,I have one of these engines. Its great except for the runtime.Cant get more than 6:30 out of it.Cant go any leaner, its in a OFNA DM1 spec.Using a 086 pipe.Kinda tough in a 15 min main.

I know some guys with the 28RR same deal 5 min.Anything I can do outside of getting a different engine.

Thanks Pete

125cc

Is there a bigger one? My rules say has to be OFNA hop up parts.

Kyosho IGT2 comes standard with 150cc tank, run time is not an issue here.

Pete,
You can change pinion or spur gears. The engine will be spinning a little slower, and you will be using more of the torque of the engine.
This approach would be cheaper than purchasing a different engine.

run two large fuel filters before the engine with the insides taken out that should get you an extra min or two.

or just run longer fuel lines.

Dude....most people consider 5 minutes the sweet spot. If you're getting 6 minutes you're well ahead of the curve but if you still want more you can try one of these:

.....or like the real divers learn to conserver gas with your driving techniques

You can try a Sirio 2013 pipe. With 1/8 onroad I know it can give up to 30 sec more time.

The exhaust gas cooler does not gain any time, you can give it a try with the team Orion CPD.

I believe inserts in the carb is no option but if you can create something with a smaller hole (0.5 or 1m smaller) there is again some time to gain.

Last option is driving a fuel with less nitro content, that can give a lot.

The Axial engine comes with 2 size carb inserts.

Taller gearing than what you've got might help along with earlier clutch lock up; no need for those 1.1 springs, the engine has enough torque anyway.

Fuel filters, longer line or putting that car on a diet might help a lot too.

Hey...... why not just "lean that s&*t out", lol

That force 28 is a fast engine if you take out the sleave, get a dremel and a small grinding bit . Then look at the port fangs and just make them alittle deeper. I did 3 of them and people always say that motor is sick fast, and I beat the liven crap out of them gallon after gallon.

Why not? its main purpose is to increase run time.

Have you tryed it and compared it ?
I have made one but I can not tell a difference but I must say the engine seems to run more constantly.

No I have not.

I'm just going by the article that was write about it and its originator, Novarossi. In the article it clearly states that the exhaust coolers help increase runtime

I asked about the CPD on another post, cause, I was considering trying the two together
