I just spoke with them. No tanks are in. They're due in the week of Aug 24.

Just finished the build tonight, connected the fuel lines and guess what? Broken tank at the hinge
Apart from the tank, the car quality is really good

Hopefully I will get the revised tank soon and I will continue to race my 720 for a little while longer.

mine was broken before i opened it. discolouration of the plastic at the crack, means it was broken before i opened my kit. but getting it plastic welded as i need to run the car before the new tanks arrive.

You could do it yourself with a solder iron (about 300 degrees celsius) but that is basically just tacking it together which can work fine. To do a proper job you'll need to find out exactly what type of plastic the tanks are made of so you can get the same material welding rod to weld it.

Australian distributer is getting replacement tanks . Spoke to Dave today and they received and email from Ronald Baar saying replacement (defect rectified) tanks are on their way.

Ok I've done the repair twice. The first time I did it I used the wrong plastic. After it cooled it became very brittle. I got one run on it and it was broke again.

Next I used some plastic from a Byrons Fuel jug and it was much better. It didn't melt as easy but it bonded better with the tank plastic. I've been running it and it has not broken again. I check after every run and it's solid.
