Ran the KROMA Cup this weekend. The 2speed was a MAJOR problem
I will now have to put bigger grub screws in the 2speed shoes as the std grub screws don't hold, even with super glue and numerous other quick fixes
The trans was bouncing and it causes 2 things:
1. The 1way to get hot and strip 1st gear
2. It robs the car of drive under heavy load which really SUCKS
Lucky the races at the KROMA Cup were only 5 min runs so could get through and finished the event 4th
I'll ream them out during the week and run the thing at a Lilydale clubby on the weekend to test it as got the SA Titles in 3 weeks
The car was AWESOME except the trans!!!

Hi mate, was yours the flouro green Serpent in Nitro Tourer?? It was making some clicking or crunching sounds at the end of the straight the passes the drivers stand. I was only spectating with my 5 yo son, who got bored with the racing in about 30mins!! Damn it!!

The fluro green Serpent was mine
The grinding sound you were hearing was the front of the body scraping under heavy braking. That was the biggest braking point on the track and setup was quite soft to generate enough grip and ride the bumps. Nothing to worry about
The sound of the thing jumping between gears over the bumps on the sweeper leading onto the straight was the prob
I know what it's doing. Now to try to stop it

Get the little fella a mini and he won't get bored & you've got an excuse to watch the races

Im currently in the process of upgrading my 733 with TE parts. I'm having problems assembling the sl6 tranny, now I've done this many times with other kits I have built... problem is with the 2 shoes put together with out the set screws there's not enough room for the second speed housing to spin freely... is it supposed to be like that at first? Do I have to sand them down a bit? In the Manual theres an error and the setscrews are supposed to be in place?? They do come in the bag...

Thanks

Yes, I had to lightly sand mine down "Only on the corners" so the the 2-speed housing will spin freely. Yes the set screws should be installed.

Pass you soon...

Today I tested a mod to the 2speed shoes to stop the set-screws loosening and causing the 2speed to "bounce"
I tried super glue and a couple of other things, but none worked so I reamed out one of the set-screw holes and inserted the next size up set-screw (which I had to sand down the tool face to fit)
Running only 1 set-screw as 2 wouldn't fit, and the trans didn't bounce or strip a gear all day at Lilydale :-)
Hope it's as good at the SA Titles

I will get the young fella an EP car, but its Nitro Kyosho V ONE for daddy! Had a good run out of the MP7.5 buggies, so kinda got a thing for Kyosho!
But the 733 is good value on Ebay! Pretty keen on joining Wcrcmcc. Happy steering EEL!
