If I remove one set of diff gears front and rear and a light weight body I can get it down to 1718 grams. but the roar limit is 1725 so why bother. I teched at the GLC race and all of the fast guys were at least 20 grams over the minimum. There is a lot more I could do but I do not see a need for it.

Your car is not overweight at all, but some clubs let others run their cars without checking their weight, and that's where it might be difficult for you to keep up....

When running recently at the Oz titles, I made sure the car weighed in at least 15g overweight (1740g) dry with new race tyres and no DLS which meant throwing 25g ballast on the chassis
When I took another 5g off it, the scrutineer let me know that the car was only 3g overweight after the race and I needed to be careful not to go underweight through tyre wear
I run Xceed composite gears in the rear diff and ti turnbuckles all round
The composite diff performed admirably for all 5 days of racing

guys, do you know what to look for when striping gears other than mesh, today i went through two 1st gears and then a 2nd gear on the final. My meshing was spot-on on both gears and im running the old gearbox with a pro oneway, cant really figure whats going on?

If you strip first gear I would look for a faulty oneway. The other time I strip 1st gear is because I wore my tires too low and in a deep turn 1st gear actually hit the ground. For second gear I would check the engine mounts and for a bent chassis near the rear of the car.

I would look for worn pinions, I've had the car eating spur gears when the pinions were tired (even though they didn't look too bad at a glance)......changed to new ones and problem solved.
