Got my TE kit on Friday!!!
Only got to build the FF and RR assemblies and the trans/brake bulkheads as had a 2 day race and couldn't get it ready in time
Looks good so far aside from the usual couple of missing bits you get with a new car kit

The TE is built! The only thing missing was rear swaybar bearings
One of the delrin inserts for the trans was cracked, but not bad enough so it can't be used. The guys at Walter RC are already on it
Really nice car!!! Love the hardcoat chassis
The 2speed clutch shoes are a bit tight, but nothing a tank won't fix I can't wait to have a trans that doesn't crap itself

As seen in this forum, the MTX-5 weighs 1685g only and my 733evo with DLS weighs up to 1850g. Not sure if that makes a difference or maybe the MTX-5 figures are not correct.

It depends on what weight the servos , body , and dls extras add to the car . If you switch to low profile servos , and light weight body , you will lose 60+grams !!! After that switch from nimh pack to lipo and you can lose another 35+grams, and get a lightweight screw set to loose another 20grams, all of which puts you at 1735grams close enough to the 1725gram minimum weight .......

Thats heavy I run a lipo no DLS and mine varies from 1735-1750 depending on what engine and pipe combo I run. I run standard servos KO and futaba.

In my current setup, I used one KO2413 (low profile) for steering and one standard servo for throttle (because low profile servo cannot fit due to the servo horn position). Half of the screws are titanium screws. LI-FE battery with ballast (35gram) for weight balance. No DLS. OS-XZ speed engine. The ready to race weight (ie with lexan body, wheels and no fuel) is still 1780gram.

I can use small Li-po battery to save even more weight, but the left and right side balance will be upset quite a bit.

With my original 733 I got the weight down and near perfect distribution
Savox SC-1251 Low Profile x2, Ti screws for all but chassis, Ti turnbuckles, Ti wheelnuts, comp gear rear diff, ceramic bearings, EDX 1100Mah LiFe RX pack, P56N L/W body
I'll have to weigh the TE when the engine's in

PS. I put the SL6 into the old car. Will be running it this weekend at MRCCR at Lilydale so I hope alls good. The 2 speed shoes seem too tight in my opinion. Tighter then I've seen before, but I'm relatively new to all this, and have only ever worked on the old LC 2-speed

Best Mod ive ever fitted to my 733!!!
I had the Evo version & wanted to upgrade the 2 speed to the SL6. Do i have to upgrade any of other parts to for the SL6

Default New Car

Hey Guys, I am thinking of getting a TE kit for one of the boys to run.
Could you please tell me what (if any) option/spare parts are a must have, or is it a goer strait out of the box.
EG: Are the kit springs OK for a bumpy/ med grip track? (Lillydale)
