I've been playing around with the solid front with 40 to 50k in the rear and that works well too.

But the main thing with oil diffs is making sure they're full, and filled the same way each time or the comparison will never make sense!

Default tires

after about 15-20mins on track, my front and rear tires would endup the same size although i started out with a 2mm split. i noticed the tires surface of my fronts to be rough; however my rear tires surface is very smooth...using 37F and 40R.

is there something not right? what could've caused this?

the front tires may just be to soft up front for the conditions. Does the car start to get tighter on u as u drive?

ya i understand that the rears will wear faster than the fronts; the thing i'm cornered about is that the surface texture of the tires after running them.

fronts are rough and rears are very smooth, is it the rears are wheel-spinning too much causing them to be 'smoothen'?

when you see the foam all rough like it sounds, you will also see a ridge on the inside of the wheel, this means your tires are working, and suspension is possibly a little hard causing it to slip, you just dont know its happening, cause the tires take over. you can possibly go softer on springs on the front, and go to 40 all round. and then check the wear. also ackerman can cause the inside wheel to slip . this is like a feathering look on the foam. nothing is too wrong, just the tires are working overtime.

thanks paul.
so the 'ideal' condition is to have the front tires smooth like my rears? but 'smooth' means tires not working?

instead of going from 37F 40R to 40 all round; will it be fine to go 37 all round? i cant find any 40F selling here at my lhs.

was just something to try if you are concerned abuot the way the fronts are wearing. i get this when i run 35 rears. but i also push the car pretty hard with them on, cause i can (more rear grip) but there is a point where too soft will loose grip.

if your happy with the way the car is going, then the wear you are getting isnt really an issue. what would be an issue, if you needed more steering and its pushing.

Well, car handles quite alrite however if I push it really hard, it'll tend to push a little...any ideas that might help?

next step up in rear diff oil ? next up on rear spring ? try 42 rears.
spring is the easiest adjustment, try that first.

Anyone know what size the e-clip is that is used on the front middle shaft?

Is it 2.3? 4? 5? 7?

Thanks Alex...

As you know, I had the front shaft e-clip pop off twice yesterday (once during practise, and during the A-main) which caused the inside pulley to fall off resulting in the belt falling off.

Otherwise, the car felt good and quick.

mate the first race is always a good one its the second and 3rd etc when it gets hard lol . If you using spacers on the pulley holder the e clip will pop too. but your car did look very good on the track . As for me it feels like going backward the car seem to want a different setup week to week racing even on the same track .
