And no I can talk German. I stood right next to the mechanic during Registration. I asked him if that was his car, so that i can take close up pics. But then the mechanic pointed at the tech bench, where the real car was and then replied that this is the parts car which they are jacking parts off. Which kind of raised every one else eyebrow.

They other teams normally have a parts box with them, in the refuel lanes. German Mechanic pretty much brought a complete Car into the pits to jack parts off.

The part where Pietsch was out the race, was when he came in for his first refuel.
1. He came in, Mechanic picked car up to refuel.
2. Another car came in for refuel, that car got picked up.
3. German Mech placed the car down, Car went of with three revs which placed it right few feet down the row.
4. Other Mechanic placed his car down right behind German Car, and that driver nails it, slamming right into German car, which caused German car to be side ways and on his next rev sending him into the wall where it then stayed stuck in max throttle. Which where it was over for germany.

He came back into the race just trying to finish the race at least even though he was lapped for a good 5-10 min when car was in for repair but after that incident you can see his car looked like it had issues squirreling around.

But it was still fun watching Wischne... Ralph and Drew and 2 Jap drivers battling it out. until Ralph got a complete 1 overlap. At that point it was Drew Wisch Rein and 2 jap drivers for 2345. and 15min before race end Ralph locked it in for first place as long as he kept it easy steady and stays ahead of the pack. Great race nevertheless.

>>Sorry just woke up mixing up the names<<
Are you saying that Pietsch was out because he got hit by a car in the pits? Wasn't it stated on RedRC that fuel got onto his electronics and his car took off by itself, backwards, in the pit lane? That's when Shimo got collected by Pietsch's car. There is a sequence of pics posted in this thread that shows the entire thing. Anyway....congrats to Ralph, his pit men and RC America/Xray!

Default Robert Pietsch

Pietsch was doing a great job the entire week in Texas. Usualy he does not compete in 1/10 scale.

The incident in the pits happens not because his mechanis failed... It happens because professional racers tend not to isolate the reciever with a ballon or any other method. I allways do it and never had a problem even if my mechanic spills one tank and a half ofer the car (witch he does not). I never understod why professional drivers dont isolate their recivers. Not a weight questin surely. A party ballon only weighs 1 or 2 grams.

Congrats do Ralph, Xray and Fantini. Great engine!

WG and "pit boy" -

Great job, congrats on the well deserved win. I am very happy for you and the "boy wonder".

Ralph, You are always a class act.

To the gang at Mikes Hobbies: Marvelous job, be proud, fab event.

Mike and Carol: I just, plain, love you two. The two of you have touched us with your hospitality and generosity. To say thank you just isn't enough, I wish there were words that could convey my deep appreciation.

We had a blast,

Rich

On a side note, Since the first day of practice, I painted 15+ Bodies for guys that were attending the worlds. One that I did was the Chevy Cruiser body that Phillip Woodbury was running in the Final. I was working the the hobby shop for the worlds, and at night went to my paint booth to help out some of the racers. I had 2-3 bodies per night to paint. Lots of 2am nights!
Smiley,

Thanks for the help with the paint, a over night paint job was awesome !!!!
My colors were spot one, even my special fluorescent green.

Thanks,
Ira
