Though it's true that there's a "2009" NT1, a "2008 NT1", etc, most of the differences have been some additional upgrade parts (for instance 2008 added front CVD's, 2009 added rear CVD's), etc. There were absolutely no geometry changes from 2008 to 2009 as another example.

The 3 cars are fine just get the one YOU like the most not everyone else. As for the Serpent 7xx we may not see it this race season so if you want a Serpent then it will have to be a 09' 720. As for engines if you want a novarossi based engine at a good price look into a Max power RR3 about$280 and pipe the max 2649 pipe. And if $ isn't an issue go with the Max XXL3 engine and same pipe. My 2 car choices would be 720 and NT1

Do you live close to a hobby store? you see my biggest problem is that I do not have any stores near by that is why I order my stuff online. but if you have a Hobby store near by you than you should get the car that they carry the parts for.
Kyosho rrr, Xray NT1 08 or 09 almost no difference, MTX-4 , TM G4RS and up and Serpent 720. all this are good cars. My thinking is if I have to drive 25+ miles to the hobby store than I may as well get it online delivered to my door, Because I already have to drive over 50+ miles just to get to the track.

I hate to say this but the R40 is retired, but if you can find a good deal with some extra good parts go for it. I still think you should look for a RRR, Nt1 or a TM G4RS.
