Default traxxas rustler 2.5 spur gear question

I just purchased a rustler 2.5 and broke it in and decided to try to install the new 72 tooth spur gear that comes with the rc, I installed it drove it around a little and it was great, I then started to tune the carb and then the vehicle stop moving but it was still running so thought it was the carb causing the problem, I reset the carb and the car still does not move, I took the gear off and found that there was a hole rubbed into the gear. so my question is how tight do I need to put the gear on using the bolt,

If I remember right the spur is the slipper clutch. Little red pegs in the spur? Should be 2 metal rings and a presure plate, with a spring and nut. The spring should be almost completly compressed.
