Fast?
I think, it is a very low speed track in Köditz. Shortest Gears, only 2 short time in second gear. The straigt is ~30m. The length is 230m and the fastest lap i think it was in 12 Seconds by Michael Heinrich.
First i tried green Springs from Kit (1,9mm, purple Edam is 1,7mm)), heavy understeer with kit-setup. I make front small to 252mm, tried toe in and toe out. The anti-roll-bar is flat (smooth) The rear antir-roll-bar is totaly hard. For tyres i use 32 shore in front, 35 in rear, sometimes 37 in rear.(I use GRP tyres, because we can´t get here much more Tires on OS1 Rim) This is nice, if the temperature is more than 20°C. Under this temperature, the car is understeering, don´t ask me why Tire difference is 6-9mm.
Bevore the 25W Serpent Oil in front, i used a harder Oil. The car was quick in direction-changing, but in corner... understeering.
I think, at your location, the Temperatures will be much time higher than here in Germany.
But, i have fun with the car and i hope to get the Jump in Main-Final at Final for german Hobby-cup with the Novarossi N21 5T Engine.
Thanks again
LM

Sorry it look much bigger in the picture and I through the straight is like 50M+. Our track we are running 17's and average 18's per lap. If the track is not fast I think 1.7 spring should be ok. Maybe you can try to set the ride height higher to help with the bottom out issue. Good luck with your race!

Hi Andrew,

Does the SPT1 use the same 2 speed as the Spirit ? also does the kit come with a diff in the front or the standard locker/oneway ?

Cheers Michael

Hi Michael

It comes with a front gear diff... by all looks the 2 speed is the same. Terry should be able to confirm though!

Hope the weather clears so i can have a run next weekend!

Andrew

it will be good to see how the front diff goes i was thinking about getting to give the car a bit more steering on turn in.

lets not talk about the weather it hasn't stopped raining in sydney for a week and we missed out on racing at moorebank yesterday. anyway i'm interested to hear your feedback on the spt1.

Cheers Michael

Hi

Well i tried to run my SPT1 for the first time tis arvo... After a minute or so my engine stalled, while i was trying to refire it on the starter box it threw a clutch weight out from the clutch bell!

Did i not assemble something correct for this to happen? I followed the manual as best i could!

Thanks in advance
Andrew

Edit: On closer inspection the screw that holds the clutch bell has come loose... Don't know why this would be though!

Mike: It's all good... i have it all back together thanks to my spares I used some loctite on the screw and also reset the starter box in case it was rubbing on the clutch bell. See how i go today!

Update: I ran the car again today... I didn't have more issues with the clutch. But i can't seem to get the 2 speed to change at all. I backed screws in the 2 speed to no avail, my engine will also flame out at about 2 minutes.

It's got me beat, i have a feeling engine issues are due to 2 speed!
