Picture #31 shows the transponder being mounted on a more traditional location (over the steering servo). Wonder what happened to mounting it below the tank?

This setup may suggest the polar moment of inertia (defined by how far each part of the car is from the cg multiplied by it's weight is higher than when the battery is under the tank.
However if you take into account that the battery only moves about 20mm and most parts like the engine drivetrain and especially wheels (they have a huge influence on polar moment which is why the lightweight wheels are an advantage) the difference is minimal. And more than compensated by the lower cg.
Yes, the polar moment of inertia that's the term i was aiming for. Good to know the proper translation for it.

Hope to see the car at the Mach track pretty soon.

The small amount of room left was just enough to put the transponder in.
All makes sense, when will you testdrive the baby?
Very good to see serpent back to the innovative part of this sport - i really hope they do well! (still some dutch love i guess??)

Thumbs up

I had some quite nice conversation with Mr. Salven at Turkish Bumodgp. I was able to see all the 7xx prototypes ( just 2 ) in the world. He was very very nice to me and kindly answered some of my questions about the 7xx.

The car is extremely different, it does not like look like any other car or even a 720. I can easily say that Serpent gonna change the touring car scene. Lots of engineering work, brilliant ideas. It will be a giant step, believe me. The car has lots of potential.

PS: I can not talk about the details, I did not take any photos of the car ( with respect to Mr. Salven )

Mr. Salven and Team Serpent were kind enough to let people see the new car and no one had any unauthorized pictures.

i guess there will be a delay in the production following Groskamp's battery falling off in turkey. maybe a small thing to fix, but seemed the car was the goods for most of the weekend. a great result as well for DJ with his 8th.
