Default Inferno GT2 not shifting

Need some help...
So my GT2 was not shifting and I saw that the snap clip was missing that holds the tranny gears against the shaft. I replaced that and took it out for a spin. It shifted good for about 5 minutes and then it would not shift from 1st to 2nd. Any ideas???

Thanks

I know this is pretty obvious but figured I'd ask... did you make sure the gear isn't stripped?

If not
Check the 2nd gear mechanism. Try and see if the catch lever thing is bent or if it wore the part it catches too on the 2nd gear. Mine got a little bent and would ride off the 2nd gear making it not shift.

Check the set screw on the second speed clutch. It can come loose if not loctited and they it will spin on the shaft.

Are you sure you put in the catch lever in correct, if you put in bacwards it will not pop out to catch the gear.

Thanks guys...
First off the gear is not stripped. I'm not sure what you mean by the catch lever thing. I just took the tranny out and tried to mess with the set screw but it still wont shift.

Thanks guys,
It turns out it was the gear...the plastic that holds the pin was worn/melted and the pin was pushed to the other side of the gear. Got a new gear and it shifts great again.
Thanks

This is a weak part in the Kyosho IGT cars. You need to lower the shift point to keep stress off of this part, otherwise you will be wearing out this part every couple of race days. The proboards IGT site has lots of options that users have implemented. The most popular one is installing the Evolva transmission parts. Inpanema racing is also selling an Evolva transmission upgrade kit for the IGT cars.
