Default Serpent Impact/835 History? 235mm

hello what happen to this class. why are these cars selling cheap like there pieces of crap?

why did serpent drop the whole class all together?

are their still races in the US or other countrys?

when did this car come out?

when did it fizzle out?

any info and people who still have em.... POST HERE!

and anyone who still thinks there cool (if anyone exist!) POST HERE!



DON'T HATE THE old DATED CAR! lol

There's nothing wrong with car, it's fantastic. The class died when 1/10th TC took off. Why run 235mm cars when TC's were cheaper and 1/8th is faster?

Serpent didn't kill the class, they were the last ones to make a car. The class just died. A few tracks still run them but not many.

awesome class, seems its creepin back with the lola conversions for touring, wider tires, most of all FASTER motors, id race that class in a heartbeat if it surfaced again...ressurect the impact!!

Still have my 2wd Impact with a Volvo body best class ever. Wish I could find a Volvo body unpainted.

I understand TC and 8th scale cars were just more popurler but the car is unique in size.


was the impact and rwd 835 poor mans 1:8th scale? that's what I heard.

it makes sence about the whole faster then TC but slower then 8th scale. I guess races did hold down the class.

was a great class especially 2wd and was a good step stone to move up to 1/8

There are a couple of guys that have 235's with .21's in them ....

(as they would say in Boston) ... It's a Wicked pissa...

They really weren't all that faster than TC's. They combined the two for a while. 235's plus 200mm TC chassis' with lola bodies. The .12 powered 200mm cars often won on either speed or fuel mileage.

There is still one from Colt!

I think with the restart of Serpent they had to decide what to do and I don't think supporting the 835 is a healthy business....

With the devellopment of the 220mm conversion there is a alternitive class and I think Serpent is busy with one, I can tell that last years Europian champion 235 was driving a 720 with some 835 parts, maybe from that project there is a possibillity we will see more.

Yes julius of serpent ran a 720 with impact tires, and that's the biggest issue you can't find tires for the car.

but parts and bodys are hard to come by. the only way I see people getting parts is if there bought on evil bay.

I never knew how much alloy parts you could get for the impact!

what other companys came out with a 235mm car to go head to head with this car?

Frewer International still has tyres and bodies available for these cars as far as I'm aware.

We run the class in 2wd in New Zealand. Quite small numbers, but a great class, and cheap. No worry about overdrive ratios being 2wd, tyres last longer etc.
