Protoform bodies
Question on the post regarding the Protoform bodies. It appears that most of the commercially available bodies, at least in my area, do not have the number stamped on the body. There are no other bodies (Protoform at least) available that have the number stamped. ROAR rules say the racer can provide proof of the legality of the body. What is acceptable proof?

Important Fuel On Road Notice!!!!!
If you are using the Protoform 1:8 LMP P909 at the Nats next week it must contain the required Prtoform part #PF1504 or EFRA35512 molded into the shell to be legal for use at next weeks ROAR Fuel on Road Nats in Toledo. There were some early versions that did not have the required part numbers or only had the word EFRA molded into it. If you have one of these early version LMP909 bodies it will not be legal at the nats.

We pulled a few bodies in haste for the Winternationals in FL last January, and yes a few ended up at a couple of the larger distributors unfortunately. When I say a few – I do mean “a few”. I knew that there was a slight chance that this scenario could happen but I thought the odds were very slim. Go figure – the bodies must have been at the bottom of a bin or something for this entire 8 months. I assure you that the bodies without the engraved numbers are 100% identical to the ones that are engraved – however ROAR has made a judgment call - and that has sealed their fate.
To those who are affected, I can only apologize for what’s transpired here. I’ve learned from this and certainly won’t allow it to happen again. The bodies that are “not” engraved will still be good club racing bodies or practice & setup bodies because they are 100% identical to the engraved versions.
I’m so sorry to have added any hassle, inconvenience and expense to those racers who have recently bought these P909’s specifically for the Nationals.
I'll be there on thurs and friday if you want to complain to me in person.
Sincerely – Dale Epp - Protoform
