10.2. The maximum number of event entries will be limited as follows:10.2.1. Electric On Road 25 qualifying heats
10.2.2. Electric Off Road 35 qualifying heats
10.2.3. Electric Oval 35 qualifying heats
10.2.4. Fuel Off Road 25 qualifying heats
10.2.5. Fuel On Road 20 qualifying heats
10.2.6. 1/5th Scale 14 qualifying heats

This was taken directly from the '09 ROAR RMT Nationals Guidelines which I downloaded from the ROAR website, where anyone can download it and read it.
schurcr........I took a quote directly from Dawn on the 20 heats.

Um.. Your not Tommy.. LOL

And, he bolded the wrong line..

10.2. The maximum number of event entries will be limited as follows:

10.2.1. Electric On Road 25 qualifying heats
10.2.2. Electric Off Road 35 qualifying heats
10.2.3. Electric Oval 35 qualifying heats
10.2.4. Fuel Off Road 25 qualifying heats
10.2.5. Fuel On Road 20 qualifying heats
10.2.6. 1/5th Scale 14 qualifying heats

Although, I have found that to be rather vague, don't you? Max of 20 qualifying heats really depends on the facility and their drivers stand, track size and of course, abiltity for evening and night time racing.

So.. with that said.... next year is the SAME situation guys.... please, plan ahead.
Has there been a track location decided yet?

If you've been waiting since March then you would have known that the entries went live on June 1 and you wouldn't be pissed

Just a few thoughts.

All the 1/8th nats I have attended (Homestead, Texas, 301) have come very close to selling out. Not complete sell-outs but close. Sedan seems to be the same way. So combining two classes that nearly sell out every year will certainly guarantee a sell-out and also guarantee many people won't get to race. Especially when the race is at a real hot-bed of onroad like Toledo. Local racers alone could come close to selling it out.

I myself was hoping to run this race but didn't know if I could afford it. People at the classic talked me into finding a way to go but now I can't anyway. No big deal, I'll just save the money for the I95 shootout or maybe the winternats.

With next year's 1/8th nats being a qualifier for a US worlds I would STRONGLY suggest that it be a stand alone event. If it's at a good location like Ohio, Florida, 301, etc it will sell very well. If it's in the middle of no where in a hot state in August you might only get 80 entries but anything better than that and you will get 100 minimum.

Just my $.02

The last 2 years, the sedan nats have NOT done well.

2006 had a good turnout, and it was a combined event in 2005.

Maybe so, I haven't been to a sedan only nats. Sounds like something needs to be done to make the sedan nats a bigger race without cutting 1/8th entries in half.

I'm not sure why everyone is so upset but, if you are, be upset with yourself.

The rules state that entries will begin no sooner than ninety days before the event. This should not be a surprise to anyone who wants to enter a Nationals event. If it is, perhaps you should spend more time reading the ROAR web site.

For those that were at the Capitol Classic, it seems there were plenty of people in attendance at that event that entered the Nats without issue. To name a few, Mike Swauger, Ralph Burch, Scott Kimbrow... and the list goes on. How did they get in? Maybe they had a laptop or used the hotel's computer or had a loved one sign them up. Doesn't matter, they planned ahead and got in.

As far as ROAR working with the racers, I believe they have done that. How about the racers work with ROAR.

If you're worried about not being able to qualify for the Worlds in Texas next year, relax, there will be opportunity to resume' into the race once the qualified racers have their shot to sign up - including all the non-ROAR entries.

If you're worried about not being able to race at the great facility in Toledo, relax, attend the GLC.

The turnout could be due to the fact, thst roar has stuck the touring car nats, in November.
It would seem, the most attended events, happen alot earlier in the year.
It would seem roar makes it's decisions, on what is easist on them, and not what people who pay membership want. I thought Mike Quellar was gone.
