yeah it was running great, i shut it off and later when i tried to run it it made a funny noise on the starter box. I took it apart and a chip was taken out of the piston. So will the conrod and piston fit from another nova based motor?

I don't know the sizes of a Rossi/Pixi, but to give you an idea between all Nova engines everything is interchangeable, except conrod from the Mugen MT12, because it is longer than the rest that are short rods.
What you have to do is measure the lenght of the Rossi conrod from center to center and compare with the Nova conrod, then you have to check the diameter of the piston pin and cranck pin and compare, and last if the piston dia. is the same.
Another example is that no parts are interchangeable between Picco based engines and Novas, except maybe the button head.
Hope this helps

Trying to keep up with the big boys huh!
If your friend has a moded nova motor, why not just run that one the way it is?
As far as taking the shims out,DOOOOOOOHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont you run 40% anyway? You should have added a shim or two instead!
See ya Sunday at O.T.H.

head clerance has and had nothing to do with his failure in any way.

unfortunatly the parts are not interchangable. however if you resize the big end of an MT long rod then you can use a novarossi piston if you can find one to fit properly. I have done this however I would not recommend it unless you have the proper tools to do it accuratly. the stack height is very close but u must use both together and resize the big end to fit the crank.

personally I would recommend a new piston and sleeve assy.

Hey motor man I found out how he broke the piston, he took the motor apart and I`m thinking he turned the p/s combo 180%
and the piston skirt hit the crank! DOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!
