I broke I belt there at the Can Am without hitting anything, but I think it was because I was really pushing it over the left hander (with the bump) before the 180 at the sweeper. At bigger races like the GLC, 301, Nats etc... The car gets 3 new belts for the main. At club racing / regional events I only change the rear belt when I maintenance the brakes 3-4 races. Side belts I do the least. The sides only get changed before finals at big races.

You can run them a long time, I just hate the thought of loosing a main because of a belt. I think it's odd that you go through more side belts, than anything else. The side belts for me, last an eternity.
I'm the same way.... I always put fresh belts on before a main at a large event. My box is full of used belts that I slap in for club races and practice days. Usually after a big event I rebuild the car and I put on a good set of used belts for the next events practice day. I'd hate to travel 300- 400 miles for a MWS race (or 1500 miles for the WinterNats) and have a suspect belt ruin my day. Same thing with glow plugs.... new one for a big main.

If I'm just hitting a few club races I may run the belts for two or three races unless I have to tear it down for a breakage- then the front gets replaced.

If you want your front belts to live in Hamilton you need to lift off the throttle just before that bump Aaron

Aaron - Congratulations on taking the Canadian Nationals as well as smashing the Main Track Record with 96 Laps! Could you post your Ontario 1/8 On Road Racing Club's Circuit setup? Have you heard from Howard?

Moy You need to get the wide philips head driver. Call Sam he has them, he might even bring it on Sunday for you.

next time you rebuild your car replace all the screws with hex heads. Much easier to work on. I don't know why Kyosho does not supply hex heads to begin with.

I thought the Phillips heads screws for a dumb idea then I got a little Black & Decker battery operated screw driver and now I like the Phillips screws. I can take the car apart in a few minutes with the bit supplied with the screwdriver.

I don't know the number of Phillips screw driver you need but any hardware store has the one you need. Just take a screw with you and find the one that fits. I think it is number 8.
