Thanks Roger. The final production model will be blue anodized and the machining will be cleaned up.

I would be very interested in that Belt Tensioner as well Rich.

I have lost count at the number of Front Belts that I have stripped...

Default Belt Tensioner

Snowey,

The cars without front tensioners really strip front belts - the bumpier the surface the worse the problem. We have tested quite a few belts - the Urethane backed Kevlar belts are the strongest (Bando). We even tested a German belt that was "the best belt ever" - man, it was awful - we had five belts in the field - three stripped out after two qualifiers. Ouch.

The attachment shows belt construction. Note how the "teeth" mount to the facing. The second belt shown has individual "teeth" as opposed to attached "teeth"(top belt) - the individual style seems better (bottom belt) - if you knock off a tooth - it doesn't strip the belt as the "attached teeth" (top) belts do.

Thanks for that info Rich, much appreciated. I have noticed as well that I strip front belts more if the track is bumpy as you said. Very frustrating considering the Mugen's & Serpent's dont seem to suffer from this as much as the Kyosho's do.

So when the Belt Tensioners are available, I want one!!! I'm sure you will sell plenty too! Good work!

Regards

Leigh

Talking Evolva Parts

I know of an online model shop that supplies Evolva parts.

Give www.benracing.co.uk a try. He has them all in stock and is quite a handy guy when it comes to set ups and the like.

Default TFT race at Crystal Park

Congrats to Chris V. for his second place finish last night after fighting all the way back from deep in the pack in the Invitational A-main. Ron C. was looking good too for a long while until a mishap destroyed his rear tire. Looking good though, boyz.

Thanks Kev...Running in the dark was tough and the traction rolling was killing me. When the tires wore down a bit the car ended up being pretty good.

Yeah the lights weren't working very well on the right side of the track. You looked like you were going faster and faster as the raced progressed. I've never seen so many 1/8th scales traction rolling... Also congrats to Leo V. ( I think Leo's ready for a new body ).

Yeah, that was one of the more fun races I have run even though I couldn't see for crap I ended up 5th and if I didn't have to come off the track to swap a shock I would have had 4th easily (3 laps). Don't know about 3rd as I am not sure how many laps I was off of them. Who was that in 3rd, Leo? Yeah he beat up on a couple of those nasty boards

I didn't traction roll at all. When it was hot out, my car was much looser than RonC's so I figured I would stick with the same setup anticipating colder temps and higher bite. My car setup was excellent and felt pretty good. BTW, I ran 35s all the way around.

I am completely stoked that I had only one on-track confrontation with another car. It was my fault and it was an accident where I punted Thello coming off the dogleg (sorry T). The good news is... he won the race anyways

Default belt tensioner

I had the oppurtunity to try out Rich Browne's belt tensioner over the weekend. It's a very nice piece. The bearings slide up and down so you can adjust the tension on the belt and it fits under the radio tray perfectly.
