Hey Bro's any tips on MRX4-R stopping power ? I have installed new break pads ( yellow ones ) clean the disk really good and made sure all linkage and screws are tight but my MRX4-R seems to have inconsistent braking , it very's from lap to lap , one lap it break fine after the straightaway next lap it fades , next lap its ok , next lap it fades and then next lap it strong this is off and on and yes my lap times do suffer so any help will be of great help.

The the yellow pad on one side and black on the other side...

Sorry for the confusion... Use a black brake pad on one side of the disk and Use the Yellow pad for the other side of the disk... You will need to buy a the Black pads...

Another thing to consider is that if your car is new you will need to just be patient untill the pad sets in......

Vented disks should help for the long mains....

Francis thanks for your help and time bro , my MRX4-R is about a year in a half old with about 30 races on it and tons of weekend play time the brakes started to fade away 2 races ago so I bought some new pads but still had the problem, I know it could be a # of things but thought I would come to some Mugen Bro's for some help. Again thank and I will try the yellow and black pad combo.

A few tips.

1. The yellow + black combo works well.

2. Try another servo and make sure it has plenty of torque.

3. Try a longer spring or piece of fuel tubing on the brake linkage to increase the amount of servo travel needed to go from the start of brake pressure to full brakes. This can give a more consistent feel.

I love Futaba S9452 servos. The things kick butt and last forever.

Drill more holes in the disc. The outer ring of the disc does not contain holes what will keep dirt and oil between the disc and brakepad. Holes in the disc will scrap off the dirt and keep the surface clean and so you will have a better brake.
