why fix something , that is not broken , we tune motors and clutch's
and our fingers to make 5min. that has always been a part of racing, it will make it a two motor racing day, just too be able to compete it will become more costly, that is a Fact ,the only one's to benefit will be motor mfg. and how is that going to bring people to this hobby?

Oh yes occasionally the guy with limited funds will give the guys that have the unlimited tires and fast engines a run for their money......but it's business as usual for most of the time. I continue in this hobby for the love of competition...not for the thought that I will win a race......for most it's not realistic. The 7 minute qualifier has been used at CP for a few races and overall from what I heard many like it as it's more track time and it felt like you ran several lower mains in the day. I can see where in the future this will be the norm.....but as with other rulings many didn't like it but got used to it in time. My opinion.
I only hate the thought that it may increase the ALREADY stupidly high price tag on some of these motors.

I do like the cool factor of the pitstop...thats racing.

For us in the states u just have to hope ROAR doesn't adapt this rule. Also the complaints about engine prices and expensive mod engines remember you buy them cause u want to! No one is forcing anyone to pay these high prices.

new people ,wont get into the hobby, if the sticker shock is too high
nigel, I would think your dad would rather sell a kit and all that go's with it
the , part's, tire's ,fuel, motor, ect. to a new person in the hobby, then a regular, getting a extra motor for qauls. at the end of the year the new guy will have made more money for your shop (real profit)
just something to think about.

Dan,
You don't think it will affect the price of a stock motor too.?? They will tack on that R&D cost to a stock motor to pay for the Full sponcer guys to TEST the MONSTER MOD MOTORS.
So yea,, that kinda forces you to pay more weather you like it or not.
You are right, NOBODY forces me to race... but rules like this FORCE us to pay more in the end.
