Now reading this thread its the opposite you guys say it has lots of punch but not much top end... my track is small and technical so i desire a punch/good take off engine i know novarossi's are the best answer, but if i could save on a few bucks i'd like to get the OS TR-P(T) 5 port for its price and the reliability and long life factor!
if ur longest st8 is abt 35m-40m with a technical infield then the OS 5 port wuld be the best choice

I have both the 3 port and the 5 port, (the turbo plug makes bugger all difference, trust me!)

I find the 3 port has loads of bottom end, the 5 port seems to rev a little harder.

If I was going to race at Keilor then I reckon I'd throw in the 3 port, you want loads of grunt there!

Giving you a $400 Nova MAX or JP mod engine does not make your car faster..........

However, your track size.........does determine how fast and what engine you can go........

I saw some track has a 100 foot long straight but have 10 plus turns inside and out............and engine like OS -TR will definitely KICK some JP mod or Nova MAX engine behind.....

Don't forget, track racing is all about skill, tunning and setting....you don't win a race because your 0-60 in less then 2 second.......you need to know how to BRAKE after the straight then turn without fish tail....so, HP sometimes mean absolutely NOTHING...

I heard so many HORRIBLE story about OS-TR, don't get me wrong, I say HORRIBLE is because I heard so many NTC3 with TR (not even turbo) spank some serious behind over those Rody mod, JP and Nova Max motor.............again, engine that last 45 minutes main without overheating and still have consistant power (both low and high) WINS the race.

Of course, if you are racing with Factory driver days in and days out............then forget about the OS-TR.

P.S...very simple theory........Ferrari 360 F1 vs NYC/Chicago Yellow Cab running (or you can say racing) in downtown NYC or Chicago...guess who will win?

They perform reasonably well, are reliable and easy to tune. If you just want to enjoy your racing, go for it!

I'd be interested in a new OS but it looks the same. Just different carb. No new work to crank?

The .12TR R-Spec is an new 3 port Turbo engine With P6 plug
New Hyper Head much larger than the old .12TR yes it does have a new crank and 11A 3 needle carb. This engine will make it's debute at the Texas Biggie. Ron Atomic will be using this engine in his FWo5R. I will give you performance updates soon.
