I have taken the hexes off the car and placed them in the wheel and they have too much play. I don't use nylon lock nuts only the serrated ones. I tighten them down as much as possible and you could actually hear the slip, I used another persons serpent style prolights and they worked fine with a snug fit. I also measured the hex of the kyosho style and the hex measured 12.3

I would like to thank Kevin and Twister Tires for helping me take the win at the 1/10 scale Mid Atlantic Nitro Touring Car Championship held this past weekend in Richmond, Va. The tires worked great all weekend with no issues at all. My car was on rails for the 30 minute A main. Thanks again Kevin for such a great product!

CONGRATS MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!

We also took the complete shut out at the first round of the Florida State Series. I was able to take the WIN in sedan and Rafael Angulo took the WIN in 1/8 scale. Looks like a good start to the series for Twister Tires USA/ATS.

Hopefully we can get some photos and reports on the twistertiresusa.com site within a few days.

Till next time,

DJ Apolaro

Hey sorry about being a bit slow getting back to you, my gear was in shipping to/from nationals so I couldn't measure everything exactly but here is what I came up with (tested 10 front tires of each type, I couldn't measure the rears accurately)

Serpent style standard weight, 11.90mm avg
Serpent style prolight, 12.00mm avg
Kyosho style standard, 11.82mm avg
Kyosho style prolight, 11.98mm avg

Kyosho hexes, the 4 that have been on my car for years are about 11.70
Of the 12 or so spares that I have, sizes ranged from 11.80 to 11.90

So in conclusion, the prolights are bigger it seems. Your 12.3mm Mugen hexes should basically be force fit on all of these wheels.

It's ok the mesurement of 12.3 was actually the hexes in the wheels. So they were too big for the hexes on the car. But I actually talked to Kevin and he took care of the problem.

And good run in Richmond Charlie, You had the best car out there.

I haven't seen one that big myself, but I have heard that the speed that they cure the mold controls what size the wheel ends up and as I posted out of 40 they were all different by some amount. I believe they have been curing the prolights to be small recently, I usually have to ream out the hole to get them on my car but the hexes are ok. DJ was talking to me about having to ream out his 8th scale wheels to fit on his Serpent because the prolights are so tight.

Hey guys,

Just to let everyone know that will be attending the Open Race in Kissimmee (Dec. 3-6) that I will be there to help all Twister supporters with any questions about our Twister Tires. If you need help understanding how to pick a certain shore or how get the most out of your Twister Tires than come see me. I will arrive on Thursday morning and will be available to help as much as possible.

We will also have other ATS driver on hand. Piero, Rinaldi Mattia and Daniele Ielasi from Italy will be at the race as well.

If anyone is interested in any tire type seminars just send me a PM and I will see if there is any interest in having a class. Could be an open seminar or specific to tire trueing, etc. Just send me a PM if anything. The seminar will be on Thursday at 5pm. This will allow everyone to get the information before the start of Friday practise and racing.

See you there,

DJ Apolaro

Just wanted to say Congrats to Eduardo Cabal and Sean Lue for the VICTORIES at this past weekends race. They Won the factory classes, Eduardo for sedan and Sean for 1/8 scale. Both running Twister Tires and having the edge of using the best tires on the market.
