for 200mm nitro sedan the TM G4JR is a good pick. It's an RTR budget version of the latest G4 chassis. Although the clutch, engine, and exhaust will probably leave you wanting more and by the time all is said and done for the amount of money you spend you probably could have gotten a 2nd hand racecar for an even cheaper price.
Alot of the guys at my local track are in love with the Kyosho so there were a few 720's, G4's, and MTX4's floating about for really good prices.

If it is at a track it would be wise to investigate which equipment (engine size) is alowed. Most RTR cars comes with a .15 engine while moste competitions says a .12 engine.

If you go on a parking I would advise a Kyosho FW05 or FW06. It is strong, has a wide support, can be upgraded and did earn some racing blood from the V-one series.

In my opinion racing a RTR is not meant to be raced.....If you really want to race with one then its not so much horse power but the handling and characteristic of the car itself.

I do agree on the FW05 or 06. We once ran an endurance race for 6 hrs with this car with a Sirio stadium truck engine and it was actually much easier to drive and was even more hardy then the pro kits.

Is this your first RC? Get whatever they carry at your hobbyshop.

The 4tec is shit. I think ever traxxas is made with bubble gum.

HPI's are GREAT beginners, easy to work on, fairly nimble, sturdy, a bit on the heavy side but it's a RTR. That's what you get. Parts are cheap for them too.

Well, sorry to say, but the fastest RTR that is out there is the Power Racing XR80. It's a 1/8 scale on road with a .26 motor. They are really fast and more controlable than a 4 tec or a Schumacher. Also they run Serpent 1/8 scale foams and many people do race them as well as many more bash with them. Price around $400.
