Default M8 Radio trouble

I could use some help.
I have an M8 that I have been using for about 3 months and just recently I have been getting little radio hits. They only occur when the car and radio are about 200 feet apart. When I bought the radio it came with 69 crystals. I changed to 73 to avoid local club conflicts. Where do I go from here. Has anyone had experience with bad crystals. I have not tried to switch back to 69 yet. Sort of hesitent to do anything without some advice.

Regards Marty

I guess the only way of making sure is to test out the 73 crystal ! The problem could be anything. I guess you need to do it when nobody is on the track to avoid glitching.

I once spotted a problem I was having due to a bad receiver pack. Another time was due to a loose antenna connection that gave the same symptoms you had described. Hope that helps.

Definitely check out your reciever. Had some of the same problems earlier this year until I replaced the reciever. Haven't had any problems since.

If the Rx has been run in an onroad car before you got it? I suggest opening the RX case up and blow it out with tuner cleaner, you can get it at Radio Shack.
