Probably the price tag.

Yes it look like an Xray which looks like a Kyosho which looks like a Mugen which was nothing more than an optimized Serpent Impulse. If you really think "looking" the same means it's going to run the same then why aren't more people still running Impulses or MTX-3's?

Can I ask a question to all that are questioning the car being a copy... Why would you change something that works? Would you not just improve the weaknesses of the top cars when designing a new car?

Why do all F1 cars look almost the same? These guys have 1000000000 times the budget and yet none ever seem to produce an innovate car that is completely differently to the others.

Me likes lots! Couple of things I'm hoping for:
-great parts availability
-red anodized hardware (what can I say I like bling plus it would go great with a redhead Capricorn engine
-reasonably priced kit(say below $500)
-reasonably priced parts (I still can't get over $35 for one Xray CVD)

The 200mm nitro class seems to really be gaining in popularity. Maybe given the world's current economic situation people are leaving 1/8 nitro for 1/10 200mm? Just think how many new cars we can expect this year: Shepard, Motonica, EDAM, Pursuit, now Capricorn?!! Then there's all these (probably false) rumors of an MTX5 and a newer NT1. And of course the current crop of RRR Evo2 WC, 720 '09, G4+ Evo, MTX4R. Damn, that's 10 different makes of 200mm nitro on-road chassis!!!
Of course since I'm in the US I won't see much of this. I'll hear all sorts of things about electric and ovals instead

I personally have no problem with it being an improvement over existing designs. That's the nature of the beast. Like wingracer said, it happens and we still buy what we like.
I just want to know how it is "Revolutionary". That implies big changes to conventional thinking. If that is the case, how is it different? If that's not the case, don't call it that. Just call it what it is. Not trying to bash here, just would like the truth.

No, The NT1 looks like a 720, the Carpicorn has rear UPPER arms like some 1:8, the pictures of the Capricorn does not look like the construction of my NT1

Centax, 1st and 2nd gear, brake etc all look the same, since basic design is the same.

Nice the aluminum.
It's pretty funny, about 9 months ago when i got my first electro car and build it i was wondering why 1/10 onroad doesn't use the nice alu bulkheads. You could hava a really open structure and no more stripping threads.
And now serpent and capricorn has aluminum bulkheads

Btw which CAD-program are you using?. Looks like Inventor to me, which i use aswell.

ok ok i am taking back what i said before, its not the same. its not something revolutionary but ok it should perform as good as the others(nt1,rrr,mtx4....) and maybe faster and better... time will tell, the last cad photograps showed the differences(not much but they are there). good luck

It;s a nice program, just started with it this year on School, i study automotive Engineering.
Do you use it for simulations aswell?.
This is my first project. Rear suspension of a Formula master, comparable car to a F3.

Nice, couple questions.

Why use a toe link instead of a three or four point mount at the upright? Seems like extra drag to me.

Do the bellcranks give a fairly linear wheel rate or are they rising rate?
