So you completed drilling the hole on the driveshaft? Ouch ! Is that the Impact / 835 lightened springsteel outdrives (808223)?

Yeah, it looked pretty strange especially having to keep my car engine running the whole while

Greasing the old balls will still give you a gritty diff as the balls already have flat spots on them. Anyway, the diff will still work fine, gritty or not.
Hmmm ... I thought "continuous greasing the old balls" would ensure long-life smooth operations [email protected]*

Better still ... stick a cam in your 710, sit on a deck chair by the pit and stare at the monitor while driving.

With the Mugen grease, I have only greased it 3 times from the time I built the car. Once because I assembled it wrong and I had to take it out. So I greased it again. Second time, I dissassembled it to service it. Curious to see the condition and third time was because I had to change the outdrives. Still butter smooth as if it was new.

I think you're the only one who is old enough to verify if it is true or not

You're right, but I'd end up shooting myself if I stayed at home. I have a history of sporting accidents and a couple of years ago I ended up 7 months at home with a broken leg from Snowboarding. It's better to come to work than stay at home the whole day
