I give a fuller run down when I don't feel so mad.

Three races: first race 2nd second race 1st third race 2nd
I was beaten by a 710 driver - the Mugen boys where 6 laps down on us in each race. The race was summed over the best two races from the three - the 710 guy beat me by 1.35 seconds

A dominant Serpent display - if you like

A good day until I got home!

Nice work Mark show those mugen queens!

Did you have your serpent when you were with her? because if i dont start paying more attention to my partner and not to my 710 she might become the same "death-queen-bitch from hell"

  And if you're unlucky she'd turn into an evil-death-queen-bitch from hell....which is one step worse
But, no, I didn't have my serpent at that time - wish I had, then things would have never got that far

I don't think anyone does that though.
I think most people just peel the little sticker off, and just change crystals.
Some people even use the Spectra module from Hitec.

Yes the old spectra module. Thats what I do till this july when the futaba module comes out. This way I can put the spectra back in my hitec controller and sell it.:D :D :D :D :D

servo linkage of the rod very close to the front belt

initial D, sorry i am saying the servo linkage of the rod very close to the front belt when it is in motioned, not the servo

I have read that depending what servo you have you will need to change the length of the linkage to clear the belt. I saw this here or in the 710 forum on MyTSN.com. I saw lengths posted for three different makes of servos.

Sorry I do not have the answer.:( :weird:

I've seen the body in person. When done nicely, it's superb. As to your question, perhaps yes and perhaps not. Sorry I do not have the answer. But it looks like in the rear you have very limited space... Just an observation.

jhigga15 05-20-2004 06:32 PM

It looks to me that it may be too narrow, that's my concern

Well, for some servos like Sanwa / Airtronics I believe, you could stick to the length like what the manual mentions.

But I for one prefer shorter regardless of the servo make. The only thing is at neutral position, the servo arm is not 90 degree perpendicular with the servo casing. But that's OK for me if it'll make left and right steering throw the same as well as clearing the front belt at the same time. I'll repost the pics here again for those interested as today is Friday.;)

********************************

Shortened the steering rod linkage connecting the steering servo to the servo saver. Manual suggest 44.5 mm. Try 39 to 40 mm. You may have to trim the balljoints and cut the rod linkage as well.

I posted this sometime back;

I cut the metal (the stock rod linkage) down to 17 mm. Stock lenght of the rod linkage is 23 mm from tip to tip.

As for the plastic, I trimmed the length of the ball cups. The picture attached shows the top one being the original (and uncut) and the bottom one is the one that was trimmed.

http://pic9.picturetrail.com/VOL292/...8/54248243.jpg

This combo gives the total length of the ball cups and rod linkage assembly as 39.5 mm instead of 44.5 mm.

Also, I made the servo horn on the steering servo at 90 degrees to the servo linkage instead of 90 degrees to the servo casing at neutral.

On second thoughts, you may be right ! It list only Tamiya electric cars that can fit the bodyshell.
