Yes I did sell this s710 to a good buddy of mine at the track for $50 since Alex has been so helpfull to me about this car's set up's and adjustments I also included the engine I was running it with ns12s3 because I have several more at home. I just don't understand why this car breaks so easly at such low speeds:weird: Ive had to replace several parts on this car with in 2 weeks of me starting running it I finnaly got fed up that day and just wanted to get rid of it:lol:
I see... You would be a good friend.

I personally think that you may had got a problem car, I would personally hav contacted the guys at Serpent. but anyway, once again, try to stay away from the barriers... I must admit that I am lucky as we do not have washboards or barriers.

I have never seen the quality of parts as I have seen on the s710.

More Centax questions

Guys, after a couple of races with my first Centax I think I'm getting the hang of it. Just wondering, my Centax is a quite hot after 5 minutes on the track, about 160F I think. Is that normal? Or am I not setting it right? Thanks.

Wow a rich 21 year old.
That must mean your parents are rich.
It's funny that you call the 710 a glass car.
You're a newbie and you complain that the car breaks easily.
Practice not hitting the walls, and maybe it won't break.

I just posted your quotes to show that you admit that you're a newbie.

Hey Sow... where do I find the Pit Babe Album...?

Blue Sky.

I think it may be normal, but just check that your clutch is not slipping, I think this causes it, If you are confused, check a few pages back, the guys were talking a lot about clutches and setup.

You should have gotten the new updated parts.
I still have all the old parts and still haven't broken any parts.
I'm not a pro driver by any means.
I hit my fair share of walls, but still no broken parts.
(Knock on wood!!!)
My 710 was from the first batch that came to the US.

Mine also gets quite hot, not sure of the temperature, though. If you follow Glenn's article, you can't go wrong!

Remember to check your thrustbearing (the three part one which sits at the screw end) often to make sure it is in good condition - use Mugen Supergrease to lube it

MTX-3 a TRUCK...

WOW, that might explain why he calls the 710 a 'glass car'. Hudy, man... the s710 is a track race bred car, note CAR, a racecar... NOT TO SEE DIRT... only RACE TRACK, and that is not dirt race track.!!! I think you may have the wrong car, find out what you have then come back and tell us. maybe you should get yourself an RTR and run on the track a bit till you dont crash it, and then get a 710, the 710 is the BEST handling car on our tracks, and I am sure many would agree, I am talking for me and even some Mugen guys at our track.

I would not know what temp is normal for the Centax clutch ! perhaps I'll temp mine one day. :D

What are your clutch settings? I'm assuming the engine (LSN) is tuned right. Anyway like Baxter mentioned, check if the clutch slips. A way to do this is to LOOSEN the clutch pre-tension nut 1/4 turn at a time till you get the best launch out of the corners and from standstill. Once your engine bogs down during clutch engagement, then you know that the performance is dropping. Tighten it back again.;)
