Originally posted by InitialD It would be fantastic ! But then if you're talking about people like us, we have to travel half way round the globe to get our cars bashed on the unforgiving boards ! |
What are the effects of the clutch mod (by InitialD) and the .4mm end float?

Originally posted by markp27 Hmmm, will there be another Asian challenge next year? :sneaky: Or maybe a trip to Malaysia :D |
Originally posted by Proficar403 What are the effects of the clutch mod (by InitialD) and the .4mm end float? It gives a better punch on the clutch. The clutch does not seem to slip. With a .4 mm end float, you bring the clutch shoe closer so that you can tighten up the clutch spring and still get the clutch to engage. The end result is you get a very punchy and responsive clutch and because of the smaller end float, you get a smoother clutch engagement which can be almost instant depending on how you set it.:D |
Also, I noticed on some new 710's today (I bought mine from the first shipment) a couple of differences.
First, the new flywheels were black, while mine is the "hardened" color. Also, the first gears on the clutch bells were brown (instead of black like mine), and did NOT include the thin silver shim, or the supplemental sheet containing the details of the shim. What's the deal with these changes? |
Originally posted by InitialD I hear that the Asian challenge is held annually. Don't know the venue for next year. But since Malaysia has just entered IFMAR through FEMCA, there might be possibilities of an international race here. I know that there are plans by IFMAR to hold international EP touring in 2005. Perhaps you could bring your jaded Surikarn then at the races to show how an antique car performs ! |
Originally posted by markp27 Coool!!! But without those Jedi-Mind-tricked-away Ti screws, the Surikarn doesn't perfrom too well    |
