Its hard when you have your friend right behind you chasing you down. I jumped a chicane bump and got a bit airborn so I couldnt brake and hit a wall in front. Its all good tho, it only gets better

Yes, like Sow&Steady mentioned, if you want to rotate tires, might as well change them to newer sets for better handling from the right foam diameter. That is of course when tire wear is high in a long main.

Prof. D..........about those metal pivot balls, how many do you think I should be replace...? Yes, I know I don't really have to replace those alum one, but honestly, I've seen so many snapped alum pivot esp on the steering area, so I will definitely replaced the front 4...........what about the rear? The single upper one? The lower rear one or the lower FRONT DRS one...? I've remembered someone mentioned 1 of the pivot need to replace by the longer metal one so the tread area can get inside the plasitc more...

Please advise......beside, $10 a pair of metail pivot are kinda pricey.

If you were to replace all pivot balls, you need 5 pairs of it. Your static weight will suffer and more importantly you increase your unsprung weight and add polar moment.

Seriously, when did you see these pivot balls break? On the 705 or on the 710? I think you're looking at the 808347 aluminum pivot balls (exact replica of 808346 pivot ball) breaking but not the shorter 801219 aluminum pivot ball meant for the 710 and FC steering blocks on the 705.

The single upper one is fine as it is. The "problematic" one would be the rear lower one and the one at the DRS arm. But this is just an interim solution while Serpent will be changing the material of the arms to solve this thread stripping problem.

I have not needed to replace any steel pivot balls on the Impulse / 705. It was bullet proof. I think probably, that's one of the reasons why Serpent put up the cost due to the very low demand for it !

Anyway, if I were you, drive the car first at the first break of good weather and sun before even thinking about the problems that might occur. You may even not have any problems for all we know.

Can't you order from HK? Should be easy to get. Else, ask your LHS to get the order stock in from HK.

Default Rear traction

Guys, need help.

I've recently changed to a front ball diff. The car now has good steering and all. What's really bothering me is the rear traction of the car. It has NO problems going into turn nor mid corner but EXITING corners the rear just breaks traction. I've done what the "bible" has asked to do accordingly, but it still happens. I can't run a shore softer than 40 coz any softer and the rims would be showing after 3 tanks.(abrasive track).

I tried a stiffer front diff and looser rear but it still happens. Tried 45š front sway bar setting and it only causes me to lose steering but the rear still breaks traction.

I'm also very upset with the quality of the spurs. I'm using 16/22 and 60/56. 2 sets of spurs stripped in 2 heats. Final heats decided to change the pinion back to 17(which is stock) and the problems were gone. It also happened to a fellow 710 driver.

If the car looses steering with a stiff front sway bar, try high lower roll center in the front and slightly higher roll center in the rear to get back your steering.

What have you tried really? Perhaps your rear shocks need to be a tad softer. List out your settings and perhaps all of us can trouble shoot it for ya !

Dude, I was practicing with 16/22 and 61/57 for close to 4 hours on Saturday. Of course I'm not upset with the performance of the car but rather lack of time when it mattered ! No problems with the spurs whatsoever. I've also tested other combos. How tight do you screw the engine mounts? I think it's slipping.

I'm still using the same spurs (as well as front and rear belts) from the last Thailand race. But now I can see cracking in the front and rear belts from the pebbles !

Will do. It's really bothering me. The rear traction thingy. Never had these problems on a one way...but driving a one way for me is close to impossible...
