There are a few racing bodies ! Stratus 1.0, Stratus 2.1, Alfa 2.1 and the new Mazda 6 are the bodies to go for.

For nitro racing, Protoform bodies will last longer as they are thicker. But you're right in saying that they lack detail. But as they say, looks ain't everything !

You could also try the Volvo S60 from Serpent. I think I only know Mark who tried Serpent bodies before if I'm not wrong. I think they are also very durable.

Thank you guys, I suppose I am new as I have not raced before and sold all my equipment many years ago, I started in electric a long time ago then went to nitro. I bought a Hong Nor Z10 about 2 years ago, but ran short of money and could not but a motor in it. It is now SOOO outdated, I then started looking for a decent competition car, and decided on a Serpent. I know 190mm is for electric, therefore, it is a problem. I thank you for the advice on the protoform bodies. I hope to see an MG soon in 200mm as it looks good, does anyone know if I would be able to get a protoform body on-line and ship it to South Africa cheap as I dont think it is here yet , and if it is, it will be expensive. You see, Protoform and HPI and all the other bodies are all the same price here, around R220 which in dollars is ~$33 and in UK pounds is about 18. Which isnt too bad, but wait till I tell you what they want for the Serpent 710 Kit, without anything, just kit, ~ $700 and pounds is ~400... OUCH!!!

Yep, still got the Serpent Stratus, but it isn't as good as the Protoform. Putting the two side-by-side, it is clear to see that the aerodynamics of the Protoform are more advanced - it has smoother lines.

Protoform bodies are so well liked, as no one else really does it quite as well as they do.

Have a look at

www.rccarinternational.com

They're based in Holand and their prices are pretty ok - the 710 costs about 400 Euro from them, so it's quite a bit cheaper than what you'd pay.

I order most of my stuff from them.

Cheers, MArk.

The option part is coming from KFactory (KFC-K1448, G4 Alu Piv Ball Nut&Tefl Wsh(2))
It has Teflon Washer !

They will fit nicely on 710.

you need the k1449 the k1448 is only a set of 2 and the k1449 is a set of 8

Thanks for the info. So for the 710, you need K1448 and K1449 then since you need 10 !

Here are some Titanium pivot balls to fit Serpent, not sure if they will fit the 710, I believe they are made by a company called F-Maxx.

I was quite shocked myself when I found out they were only 11$
When I used to live in Cali they cost around 17 US$ if I remembered. I guess 14 bucks in Malaysia is pretty cheap considering eveything there that is imported is so dam expensive. I spend way too much money when I stayed there buying imported stuff.

the stratus 1 is still onw of the most stable, the 2 has more turn in and the alfa is okay kind of sucks on high speed tracks, the new mazda is very similar to the first stratus, but as of yet is not ROAR approved for those that it matters for.. may be submitted though yopu would have to ask ROAR on that one..
