I think Rene may have been there in the main to provide support to Michael and not to be racing himself. He is though a very good racer, being a regional German champion last year.
He'll let us know when he comes back

Does the factory charger that comes with the Futaba remotes charge ni-mh batteries? You know the one with 2 red lights on the adapter,1 for the rx and the other for tx? Actually I found one laying around but its a Hitec one. Not sure if it will work with a Futaba remote. The polarity should all be the same correct? Im guessing it should be universal.
Here are the specs for the Hitec Ni-Cd charger.
Input 117VAC 50/60Hz 4VA
Ouput TX 10.8V DC 55ma
Rx 4.8V DC 55ma

Should I see if it works or is it too much of a risk?

Is there any normal wear and tear I need to watch out for on the 710? I heard someone mentioned that some kind of shims need to be replaced as they get worned out?(forgot which ones) Im talking about anything doing with the clutch, gears, thrust bearings or anything similar?

Down here in Puerto Rico there are a couple of racers that have actually raced the car, with good results. The car seems to be a little soft in the rear but I think this car wasn't made to be smashed against the walls!! Still, the car to beat (so far) is still the MTX-3 al least down here!

When the pinion gear (standard) and spur are worn out, it`s better of changing both at the same time to avoid stripping. Shims on the first gear also.

Yes, the Mazda body is great. We`ve been selling about 50+pcs in the last 2 weeks

Madness... I think that`s driver factor. S710 has blast MTX3 on its firts meeting by overlaping in 5 minutes run in here.

Goldfinger, in your opinion what is the advantage of using the 705 bumper if you're using the Loletta shell?

I find that with the Loletta shell, you can use the original foam bumber and only need to trim a small portion up front into a slope.

With this, I think the car is able to withstand bigger bumps plus you can swap between VDS and Sedan shells at will.

Coz there is no other alternative.. 710 Lola bumper will be perfect and the front body mounting is separated with bumper but hasnt release yet..

That is sound good too..

For me, my goal is the shell must stay in place (correct position)
after a hard crash, even with broken bumper plate or 1 post left.
With stock 710 bumper and plate.. i gave up already after replace it 4 times.

Mark, I don't think I'll get to drive the shell. I've cut it already but I've still not painted it yet !
