can someone help me with building my ball differentials for my serpent 710? I need to know if you could use any type of grease on the differentials and and how it should operate when am done.

I use Associateds Stealth Lube...works fine.

can you use the silicon shock oil?
and can you tell me how exactly the differential is sussposed to work?

as for the fuel, i personally use 20% because i think it burns cleaner but i think most people uses higher percentage as high as 40%. your engine will last longer with a lower percentage nitro but will run a little hotter and less powerful.

Everyone at my track tells me 10% is best but 25% will do. I just want whats best for the engine :) BTW the camera phone is a pda/phone with camera. XDA II- got it in Hong Kong for US$ 960

that phone is amazing!

it can take videos as well :)

At that price I bet it can!

Maybe, with a little mod, you can drive your 710 just by looking at the PDA screen! :)

Fuel Tank & Pressure Line!

Hey Guys,

Something i noticed today was that while being refueled when the lid is closed it would inject a heap of fuel into the carby and flood the engine and on numerous occasions the motor ending up stalling. Any suggestions? Do i need to run a longer pressure line from the exhaust or are we simply filling the tank with too much fuel?

Hey, that's a very nice looking track. I reckon the size looks like the Srinakarin track in Thailand ! What about the track surface? Smooth?

I use Mugen grease sparingly. Just put the balls with a layer of grease will do. Like crash mentioned, the AE stealth lube is also fine. I guess graphite grease would be fine but I do not recommend silicone oil as it is not meant for the purpose.

Assuming you got everything correct, make sure that you tighten the E18 screw (M4 x 8) in step 2.4. Grab and lock the two sides of the diff shafts by using 2 screw drivers like in the picture below that I borrowed from Julius' article on the FPS diff. Try to turn the diff pulley and make sure it does NOT slip.

http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL115/...2/43873268.jpg

If that is done, try turning the two sides of the diff axle in opposite directions to check the diff tension / friction. The diff should be set as loose as possible. To make sure the diff friction is loose, you need to loosen the E18 screw (M4 x 8) little by little and always checking the diff pulley slip like described above and in the picture. The diff pulley should NOT slip and at the same time the diff friction needs to be set as loose as possible.

After you've gotten the right setting, lock the H16 set screw (M4 x 4) on the opposite site of the diff axle to lock the initial settings as per step 2.5.

Once this is done, the diff friction collar is assembled. That would be the one which would be controlling the overall rear diff friction via the single F12 (M3 x 10) cap screw as per step 2.6.

Eh, what has this got to do with the 710? No foam tires? Does it have DRS? Adjustable front and rear roll centers?
