I now think it is a RR12L5...or L3
It has 12R on one side, 5 cooling fins on the cilinder and a purple head.

I have to wait a couple of months untill I can run it, so I probably put a new conrod in and have it pinched by OSRocket.

The same with the 710...take it all apart, replace some things that need to be replaced and have it ready when spring comes....

The R probably stands for Rossi.

Ridder, take the engine apart to find out how many ports you've got

Default 3 port

I took it apart and it is a 3-port.
The seller sold it as a NS12S5, but it is a RR12L3....
No problem for me...at least it is legal.

Yes , the R is the Rossi "R"...some other models have 12S on the side or (like the NS12S5) "Nova"...

I bought a NSR12S5, brand new, shrinked wrapped. On the head was printed "Race L3" but it was a 5 port engine. I guess the guys at the factory put the wrong head on the engine

Definitely wrong head or wrong innards. The NSR12S5 is completely different to the L3.

From the outside it looked like a RR12L3.
Markings on the crankcase etc.
But the carb is different (no restrictor, or possibility to put one in), and the crankshaft is different...I measured 11 mm instead of 11,5, and it doesn't look like a turbo shaft.
It's probably an older model....but which one...it's not on the NR site.
I guess I have to find the Dutch distributor to find out......

I finished taking the car apart.
No real problems.
Due to kiddies running around screaming and jumping, I lost concentration and when I took the 2-speed shaft out, I ended up with a shaft with a bearing on it that is stuck to the shaft....it's not a standard bearing...inner width is larger than the rest of the bearing (that kind of bearing probably has a proper technical name...).
The other 2 bearings were also on the shaft.
But AFAIK there's no 3rd bearing on the shaft...at least, I can't find it in the reference guide.
Anyone seen this before?

Default NovaMega

It looks like my engine is exactly the same as a NovaMega SX12 RE with a turbo combustion chamber, but with a Novarossi crankcase.

How are those engines?
On what NovaRossi engines are they based on?
Are they rebadged NR engines, or modified?

I just saw that there also was a Michael Salven edition!
Micheal must be able to answer my questions and give me a good feeling about the engine......

It is possible to see the performances, this type of CONICAL

5 fins manifold - short type (best solution on long straights)

6 fins manifold - medium type (suggested to have more push exiting curves and on the straight)

7 fins manifold - long type (more power exiting curves)

Choose your weapon

It's not a bearing, but a spacer between the bearing on the car and the bearing inside the 2nd speed gear. Have a look here: http://www.mytsn.com/publ/publ.asp?pid=9341&sn=7

You should try to heat it up with a blow dryer or heat gun and it sould come off. There is 2 bearings on the second gear one that is stuck on the shaft and one on the other side of the second gear. I'm not a pro but when I took apart my 710 thats what a found. Also you could see it on the diagram.

Dude I hope you didnt pay too much for what you got. Looks like a bag of shyte.

If I had to guess I'd say the engine was a novarossi RS12. I dont think its a novamega as I'm sure they didnt have the R on the case.
