Thumbs up Question about building shocks

since the shocks have pistons that are adjustable, when I am pushing the pistons up and down, should i have all the holes open?

also, I remember from my first 710 that it was really hard to ge the pistons on the rods, any tips to help me out?

Thanks.

(I going to get a kit tonight ! - I hope its the new kind)

Default Tires

Hello people

Just a quicky! My car handles well on new tyres (run in) but when they get realy low my car handles GREAT i mean it seems to hold the sweepers extreamly well and there is so much on power steering, i love it! but before i go and tru all my tyres down i would just like to know why my car performs better on low tyre?

Thanks chaps

Brett

Brett, how are you? Smaller tires always work better for the car when you're running on smooth and flat tracks. That's a general statement.

Do you constantly reset the ride height and maintain the same ride height everytime?

Doing that when you use smaller tires at a particular ride height would give you less front and rear droop as compared to running bigger tires with the same ride height. Less droop in the front and rear is usually better for smoother and high traction track. It makes the car roll less and makes the car more responsive.

Default I got my kit !

Initial,

how do I know if my kit is the "new" updated kit?

I have a black flywheel, but that is the only different thing.
does the production No. on the box is the difference?

THanks

No idea on the production no. on the box.

Does your kit have any extra shocks pistons? Does it have extra tools to tighten the Centax pre-adjusting nut and a tool to take out the 2nd gear off the aluminum hub?

Those holes are adjustable. Follow the instructions on the manual to set the number of open holes (2, 3, 4 or 5 holes open). It would depend on your setup. Stock setup calls for 3 holes in the front and rear.

Slowly align them so that the flat part on the piston is the same side on the shaft.

As for the ball joints that go on the other end, pre-tread them with an M3 screw.

Where did you get your kit? I did mention that if you get it from one of the LHS, they may still have stocked the "older" 710 which only had the black flywheel.

Slowly check every bag as these new stuff could be "hidden" in one of them.

Anyway, the newer kits that I saw still did not include the foams with newer style Ellegi rims.

The newer kits do not have the updated rear shock tower and the rear lower arms.

The newer rear shock tower is made of thicker CF and the rear lower arms have slightly longer edge for the pivot ball thread to grab more plastic.
